Part of a new long-term initiative to broaden its outreach, showcase new ways to interpret and utilize the holdings, and forge community relationships to maximize the potential of the collection and the Library as a whole, UCLA’s Clark Library collaborated with L.A. Theatre Works (LATW), a non-profit media arts and theater organization. This project used innovative technologies to produce works of dramatic literature, provided diverse audiences with wide access to theater. The initiative produced three plays each year that drew on the Clark’s collection. These productions, featuring renowned actors, were available to community groups and campus constituencies, while recordings were made available online and through libraries to reach a broad audience.
