This special workshop, funded by a grant from the UC Humanities Research Institute, was offered in partnership with the History Project at UCI, MIT, UCLA’s Asia Institute, and the Pacific Asia Museum. The conference included content lectures and discussions. Participants learned to use the resources of the “Visualizing Cultures” website and the Pacific Asia Museum to develop rich lessons on Modern China and Japan
