Join the UC Irvine Humanities Center for “How a Photographer Sees,” a hybrid event on January 18, in which Mark Leong, the professional mentor of the UC Irvine “Photographing Care & Repair” project, shares insights about his approaches to photography.
On January 19 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Leong will elaborate on his international photography career in another hybrid event, “Learned Territory: Photography Projects.” As he explains: “I often use the phrase learned territory to describe how even knowing a place like China, where I have roots, doesn’t come naturally to me.”
Leong is an award winning photojournalist whose photo essays have appeared in National Geographic, Smithsonian, and Time.
