Domesticity, Affect, Intimacy, Power, and Justice Conference

A conference hosted by the Department of Black Studies at UC Santa Barbara. Topics included “Intimate Justice,” “Domesticity and Normativity,” “Genteel Apartheid: The Affect of Power,” “Orphans of Modernism,” “Art, Affect, and Activism,” and a planning session for a UC-wide “Race, Place, and Power Network.” The event was organized by UCHRI’s Conferences & Seminars program grantee George Lipsitz, Black Studies/Sociology, UC Santa Barbara, and Ingrid Banks, Black Studies, UC Santa Barbara.
