In Ngugi’s Spirit

This conference was held to celebrate Ngugi wa Thiong’o’s 70th birthday and to honor his life and work as a novelist and theorist of post-colonial literature. Ngugi is Director of the UCI International Center for Writing and Translation. The program included UCI Chancellor Michael Drake, Angela Davis, Mukoma Wa Ngugi, Simon J. Ortiz, Vicki Ruiz, Jerry Quickley, Sonia Sanchez, Liu Sola, Koffi Koko and the Ambassador of the Kenya Mission to the UN. Organized by UCHRI and the UCI Department of Comparative Literature. PDF-flyer
