UC Irvine
The first of our Intel-sponsored workshops explored how the “workaround” is emerging as a new rubric for social relations in their imbrication with technology. The workshop addressed such issues as how technologically mediated forms of selfhood and sociality frame understandings of efficacy and temporality in terms of “workarounds,” and how notions of work, play, problems, creativity, and inequality change when viewed through the lens of the “workaround.”
