Laura McNamara of the Sandia National Laboratories and member of the AAA Ad Hoc Commission on the Engagement of Anthropology with the US Security and Intelligence Communities gave a talk on “Iron Hands in Ethnographically-Informed Gloves? Anthropology, Torture, and the Importance of Engaged Critique in the Global War on Terrorism” at UC Irvine. The event was co-sponsored by UCHRI and the UC Center of Ethnography.
