Alex Dayer is a teacher, researcher, and PhD candidate in UC Merced’s Cognitive and Information Sciences program. He is from Arkansas and has lived in California since 2018. His research is at the intersection of philosophy of mind, philosophy of action, and experimental psychology. Specifically, he is interested in the relationship between expertise and spontaneity. He has contributed to the Academic Placement Data and Analysis project, which collects, analyzes, and distributes data on job placement for philosophy PhD graduates.
