Brittany Turner

Brittany is a second-year PhD student in Film and Media Studies at UC Irvine with interests in Black visual cultures, performance studies, and creative, community-based labor. Her research traces a global genealogy of militant, participatory filmmaking movements, including Third Cinema and the LA Rebellion. At UCHRI, Brittany assists with media, website, and social media management, as well as live and online event programming. She is excited to bring her enthusiasm for public humanities and practice-based approaches to scholarship to her work at the Institute.
