Jaimey Fisher is Director of UCHRI and Professor of German and Cinema and Digital Media at the University of California, Davis. He studied Modern Thought and Literature at Stanford University, at the Freie Universität Berlin, and at Cornell University, where he received his Ph.D. in German Studies with an emphasis in intellectual history as well as in film and video studies. He was director of the UC Davis Humanities Institute (DHI), 2016-2022, and his work has been supported by the Mellon Foundation, the National Endowment of the Humanities, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, among others. He is the author of four books and editor or co-editor of another seven, with topics including German post-war cultural history, film and media studies, and Critical Theory.
