Kathleen Frederickson

Kathleen Frederickson is Associate Professor of English at UC Davis. Her first book was The Ploy of Instinct (Fordham UP, 2014); her second, Sex and Security in the Place of Nature, examines the imperial and technoscientific ideologies of the infrastructure of four nineteenth-century eco-legal zones: the commons, the quarantine, the farm, and the preserve.

Abstract, color-altered image of ancient cliff dwellings built into a rock face. The structures have rectangular openings and are surrounded by rough, textured stone in pink, purple, and orange hues.
