Laleh Khalili is a professor of international politics at Queen Mary University of London, and the author of Heroes and Martyrs of Palestine (Cambridge 2007) and Time in the Shadows (Stanford 2013). Her most recent book, Sinews of War and Trade (Verso 2020), is about the politics of maritime transportation in western Indian Ocean.
