Pedro Valdez is affiliated with the Sociology Department at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, and currently holds a position at the National Institute of Migration. His most recent work considers the influence of COVID-19 in Haitian and Venezuelan immigrants’ access to national healthcare in the Dominican Republic.
