Show & Prove Hip Hop Studies Conference 2016 featured new and unpublished work by junior and established scholars in this burgeoning field of study. It is the third installment of a series begun in New York, and brought to UC Riverside’s campus by Assistant Professor Imani Kai Johnson. The conference brought together participants from around the world including scholars, artists, local practitioners, community organizers, students, and faculty across the UC campuses. Show & Prove Hip Hop Studies 2016 featured panels, master classes with established artists, stage productions, round tables, and workshops along with exhibitions of forthcoming work, as well as an opening and closing reception.
