The working group invited and assembled graduate students from various UC campuses to have conversations about the overlapping concerns and interests of film and media studies and science and technology studies. This working group totaled eight; there were four people from UC Santa Barbara, two people from UC San Diego, one person from UC Los Angeles, and one person from UC Santa Cruz. This group considered theories of mediation in film and media studies applied to objects other than film (surveillance, technologies of mobility) in tandem with the theory of media technology, body-technology mediation, and situated practice in communication, as well as theories of circulation and networks in science and technology studies.
