Cognate Collective

Amy Sanchez Arteaga and Misael Diaz collaborate as Cognate Collective, a binational art and research collective that develops research projects, public interventions, and pedagogical platforms in collaboration with communities across the US/Mexico border region. They have exhibited and presented work locally and internationally at venues including LACE, VPAM, MCA San Diego, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Craft Contemporary, the Getty Center, Museo Jumex in Mexico City, and Arte Actual in Quito, Ecuador. Their work has been supported by the Joan Mitchell Foundation, Art Matters, and NALAC Artist Fellowship Grant. Their practice is currently based in National City, CA, and they work between Tijuana, BC and Los Angeles, CA.
